Welcome!
Dark Council is, above all else, a fun, friendly & helpful social-levelling and casual raiding guild, with an integrated support structure for professions, questing and running dungeons & raids at every single level from 1-85 with dedicated, experienced officers who love WoW as much as we hope you will or do.
The principal aim of this guild is to help all members have the most enjoyable WoW experience they possibly can, whatever your interests, level or experience, from first-time character to experienced top-level raiding. Join in and enjoy yourself!

The seven fundamental rules are extremely important, please adhere to them at all times. They help to keep the guild enjoyable, supportive and open to all.

Hey all,
As the title states, I'm holding off on the nominations and elections on the Captain positions until March, largely to get us used to the idea, and to get the ball rolling, I've appointed Caretaker Captains, who will serve precisely the same functions.
I am delighted to announce that the Guild structure is now as follows:
Guild Master - Khalud
Deputy Guild Master - Raininaugust
Raid Leader and Webmaster - Twm
Captain of Azeroth - Yochlol
Lieutenant of Azeroth (levels 1-30) - Stabikins
Lieutenant of Azeroth (levels 30-58) - Notrogue
Lieutenant of Azeroth (Dungeons & Professions) - Spartyman
Captain of Outland - Jaladine
Captain of Northrend - Vampired
Captain of Cataclysm - postponed until March, so we can get a chance to get to grips with the so-far awesome Cataclysm expansion!

The vote to implement the new Captains positions has finished, and passed with 87.5% of the votes - again, a landslide in all but numbers... :)
Nominations for the four Captain positions open today!

Nominations will remain open until Saturday night, then voting will begin :)

Hey all,
Please check the forum for details on a vote to implement suggested Captain positions - we'll take comments and suggestions until Saturday night, then vote for their implementation - after that, nominations open for election to those positions so watch this space!
To make room for this, the following rank name changes have occurred:
Lieutenant is now Corporal;
Captain is now Lieutenant;
Colonel is now Captain.
No-one's rank has been changed - simply those three rank names.

Hey all,
As the title suggests, the formal member polling has finished, and I'll be drafting a set of voting options for everyone soon - keep an eye open!
The one thing that has come through very clearly is that we all love the social aspect of Dark Council, and indeed consider it to be the single most important part of the guild experience - so no matter what directions and undertakings we adopt, the social aspect will always be at the core of everything we do.

Hey all,
As the title suggests, member polling is closing this weekend for your thoughts, ideas, comments, suggestions, deepest heartfelt (Guild-achievable...) wishes, so get posting!
On Monday (November 8th) I'll be going through everything, seeing what requires voting, setting those votes up, and advertising guild positions for voting to start the week after, so keep an eye open.
The new ranks seem to be working out well, but as with all these changes, they're on a trial basis, so please feel free to post any comments you like...
